COMPETITIONS: 2007/8

RAF U18 Schools Finals

27th February 2008, Swansea University

Pool A of the tournament proved to be extremely tight with three schools all finishing on 6 points with Rydal Penrhos (Eryri) narrowly missing out on the semi-finals by 1 goal difference. Gorseinon (Afan Nedd Tawe) and Welshpool (Powys) were joined by Cwmcarn (SE Wales) and Sir Thomas Picton (Dyfed) from Pool B to contest the semi-finals. Gorseinon and Sir Thomas Picton could not be separated during normal time and only after a penalty stroke barrage did the latter qualify for the final. Having overcome Welshpool in the other semi-final, Cwmcarn and Sir Thomas Picton played the best match of the day with Cwmcarn going down to a very narrow defeat 0-1 to leave Sir Thomas Picton winners.

Thanks must be offered to all who helped to make the day such a success including the umpires, hosts Swansea LHC, organisers SWWHA, Swansea University staff and most importantly the school staff members who have worked so hard with their teams.
