Whitchurch U17s

Swansea Bay U15s
The day started with the U15's final between Colwyn Bay and Swansea Bay. In a fast paced game Swansea took a commanding four goal lead through Kim Pullinger, Ben Francis, Sammy Kastro and Daniel Kyriakides. Swansea Bay were reduced to nine men when Ben Wigmore and Sammy Kastro were yellow carded resulted in Colwyn Bay pulling two goals back at the start of the second half with goals from Bryn Jones and Ashley Williams. However, once Swansea were back up to strength they sealed the win when Daniel Estall converted.
The U11 boys were up next. In a very close age group where the standard has been rising year on year Swansea Bay were crowned champions following wins against Brecon and Dysynni and a draw with Colwyn Bay.
In the best game of the day Whitchurch took on Colwyn Bay in the U17's final. An extremely close game which was end to end right from the first whistle saw Whitchurch emerge victorious thanks to a goal in the final seconds by Rhys Davies. Earlier the game had started with Colwyn Bay taking an early lead through Jordan Kingston, this lead lasted three minutes as Rhys Davies equalised. Kingstons second goal for Colwyn Bay saw them take a 2 – 1 lead into half time. In a frantic second half Whitchurch scored twice through goals by Rhys Davies and James Hodge. However, they were then awarded two yellow cards (Rhys Davies and Martin Gray) which let Colwyn Bay back into the game with the equaliser scored through Luke Langford. Just as it looked like the game was going to penalty flicks Rhys Davies popped up for his hat trick.
Last group of the day were the U13's. Again a very close competition which went down to the last round of games and saw Swansea Bay make it four out of four for South Wales after comprehensive wins over Colwyn Bay and Dysynni and a very nervous 1 – 0 win over Gwent.
