WELSH WOMEN'S U-14 SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS
Colwyn Bay, Thursday 18th March 2010
Eifionydd take U-14 Title
Eifionydd School, representing Eryri area, took home the U-14 title after a thrilling final against West Mon (SE Wales). With both teams winning their respective Pools, West Mon had to rely on penalty strokes to see them through against Bishopston in their semi-final whilst Eifionydd scored a late goal in an end-to-end match against Welshpool in the other semi. In the final, West Mon had a number of penalty corner chances during the first half but it was a converted corner by Eifionydd that gave them the lead. Despite West Mon going all out for the equaliser, they got caught on a counter-attack which put the game safe for the North Wales School.
WHU Director presented the trophies and paid tribute to all the schools that had taken part and to the teachers, umpires and orgainisers that had made the competition possible.
