Affiliation Savings ££££ for Accredited Clubs
The WHU are delighted to announce a new 15% affiliation rebate for Accredited Clubs.
This scheme is being funded by Friends of Welsh Hockey and Roger Caddick announced on their behalf:
"For some time we've been looking at ways in which we can assist the Union and this is an ideal scenario.
It will help clubs financially in their quest for Accreditation and general improvement in their management. The Accreditation Scheme is recognised by the Sports Council for Wales, and Unitary Authorities will be better disposed to help Accredited Clubs. This support will be over a period of 3-4 years and WHU and Friends will be looking for other joint enterprises."
The support being provided by Friends of Welsh Hockey is a finite amount each year. This means there are sufficient funds for approximately 16 Accredited Clubs per annum. Therefore, the first 16 or so clubs that achieve Accreditation, whether it be at Level 1,2,3, will receive a 15% rebate on their total affiliation bill from the WHU. In addition, clubs that achieve the Level 2 or 3 criteria will receive a second rebate in Year 2, in recognition of the work involved running junior sections and Performance Development Centres (PDCs). A delighted Matt James, WHU Clubs & Young People Development Manager, spoke on behalf of the WHU:
"This rebate scheme is great news for Welsh hockey and we are therefore very grateful for Friends of Welsh Hockey's support. The club accreditation scheme has the potential to improve every area of club hockey, from umpiring to junior hockey, and the 15% rebate can be the catalyst clubs need to go for it. The rebate will be worth £130 to the average Welsh hockey club and £200-300 to larger clubs, so clubs may wish to consider appointing someone to pull together the Club Accreditation Folder.
