NEWS FROM HOCKEY WALES: OCTOBER 2009

Colwyn Bay HC make the final 3

Colwyn Bay Hockey Club has made the shortlist of the final 3 for the 'Conwy Sports Awards - Junior Sports Club 2009'. The award recognises the achievement of junior sports clubs for the previous season. Colwyn Bay Hockey Club has a large thriving junior section for players between 4 and 18 years that the club is proud of. The youth section is supported by many dedicated coaches, umpires and organisers who all work hard throughout the season to ensure young players are provided with both quality coaching and competition opportunities. The youth teams have been North Wales RAF winners at U13, U15, U17 and Welsh U15 runners U17.

Recognising the hard work of the coaching team, Rob Williams and Brett Madden have also been jointly nominated for the 'Volunteer Coach of the Year Award'. The award recognises the efforts of local voluntary coaches who have made a substantial contribution to their sport and club.

The awards will be held on the 6th November 2009 at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, Conwy County Borough Council and we wish Rob, Brett and the Club every success for the Awards night!
