Hockey growing fast in Fishguard - and so are the artifical turfs!

Over 60 pupils from 5 primary schools in Fishguard have enjoyed 4 weeks of after school hockey sessions from 3 coaches at Fishguard & Goodwick ladies. The children have also been attending further training sessions on the new artificial turf every Friday after school. From this the club will run a fun 10 week club for the children. Pupils were also invited to the opening of the artificial turf pitch at Fishguard Leisure Centre and took part a training session led by Beth Fisher a current Welsh international hockey player and assisted by Fishguard & Goodwick ladies coaches and student from the local secondary school Ysgol Bro Gwaun. Angela Miles the hockey development officer for Sport Pembrokeshire has been working with the coaches introducing hockey into the Fishguard feeder primary schools and will be moving on to the St. David's feeder schools in the New Year.
