There is plenty of international hockey on the menu in an extended summer programme. The WHU encourages your passionate support, so keep an eye on the web for detailed schedules!
All roads for the Senior Women lead to the Commonwealth Games in October with a comprehensive programme of preparation May to July following their WCQ in Russia last April. They have a break in August but return to face France in Cardiff, Scotland in Sterling and then a series of training games before departing on 25th September. It is anticipated that Wales will have some training matches in New Delhi ahead of the opening game of the tournament against New Zealand on 4th October followed by their match against England the following day.
Forthcoming events in Cardiff include:
- U18 Girls and Boys tests v France on 26-27 June
- Senior Women v France 27-29 August
- Senior Men v USA 10,12 & 13 September
In addition:
- Senior Men Celtic Cup near Paris 25-27 June
- U21 squads both have matches v England (Away) 26-27 June
- U16 Girls v Ireland in Dublin 1-4 July
- U16 Boys v Belgium (Away) 1-4 July
- U18 Boys & Girls - Home Nations in Cork, Ireland 15-18 July
- U21s Celtic Cup in Belfast, 2-4 July
- Senior Men v New Zealand at Loughborough 10 July
- U21 Women European Trophy in Bra, Italy 24-31 July
- U21 Men European Trophy in Vienna, Austria, 24-31 July
- Senior Women v Scotland in Sterling 3-5 September
- UK School Games in Newcastle 1-5 September
- Senior Women Commonwealth Games in New Delhi 1-14 October
