Pam Richards named SCW female coach of the year

Pam Richards
After a particularly successful year coaching the Welsh senior women's hockey team to European Bronze, Pam Richards has topped it off by winning the Sports Council for Wales' Female coach of the year award at a superbly staged event. This was a well deserved recognition for all the dedication that Pam has shown and the success she has enjoyed over 15 years of coaching through all the age groups.
Pam was triumphant at Thursday's award ceremony over some strong competition shortlisted from Rugby and Rowing. As Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at Glyndwr University, Pam is immersed in the development of coaches across all sports. She is relishing the new challenge having moved from Manchester University last year, exclaiming ‘it is a joy to come to work every day with a fantastic view from my office over a top class hockey pitch!'. Chair of the WHU Karen Evans an CEO Mike Leatt amongst the many on hand to congratulate Pam on her outstanding achievement.
