Penarth all set for their European adventure
Penarth Ladies are looking forward to representing Wales in Europe at Bratislava later this week. Following a very successful season with the team remaining unbeaten in the South Wales League, we are optimistic that they will carry this success into the European Tournament. Penarth are currently League Champions and Welsh Cup holders completing an impressive double. The team has already qualified for the European tournament in 2011. This year the make up of the Penarth team is a blend of experience and youth. Some players are making their debut in European Hockey, a number have international caps and some are just embarking on their international careers. Therefore this tournament also provides us with an important player development opportunity. The club runs 3 teams, 2 of which play in the Premier League in Wales. The Penarth 3rd team has also just won promotion. Combining these teams with very successful Under 15 and Under 18 teams, that also boast several age group internationals, the future looks bright for the further involvement in European Hockey for Penarth Ladies.
