Performance Development Centre (PDC) Nominations – closing date 13 August

The WHU have written to every school and club in Wales seeking nominations for the next round of Performance Development Centres for the under 15 and 17 age groups. PDCs are a national network of talent identification centres designed to provide a quality training environment for young players with potential. PDCs will operate for 8 weeks in September and October culminating in festival based competitions held in Wrexham, Swansea and Cardiff. WHU talent scouts will be attending both PDC training sessions and also the festival competition and will, in partnership with PDC coaches, identify and recommend players to move into the Welsh Hockey Regional Academy Structure. The Regional Academy then acts as the main pathway into Welsh Hockey National Age Group squads (U16/U18).

There are 11 PDCs across Wales:

North Wales Coast – Rydal School, Colwyn Bay

North East Wales – Glyndwr University, Wrexham
