Queen's baton relay passes through Wales

Queen's baton relay

From the 8th - 15th November the baton for the Commonwealth Games passed through Wales on its way to New Delhi. Many children were involved in various events throughout the country. Part of the baton's journey was held at a hockey development afternoon, organised by Sport Cardiff, at Cardiff High School. It was carried with pride by two UK School Games ambassadors to the event where Councillor Nigel Howells, WHU president Anne Ellis and Sports Development Officer Steve Morrison were present. Welsh Hockey Commonwealth representative Dawn Mitchell and youth international Emma Gowman were also on hand to offer coaching and encouragement to the young participants.
