Sport Pembrokeshire and Fishguard & Goodwick HC host Fun Centres

Angela Miles, the Hockey Development Officer for Pembrokeshire, together with coaches from Fishguard and Goodwick Hockey Club previously introduced hockey to the Fishguard and St. David’s family of primary schools. From there 50 youngsters attended a Fun Centre led by Sport Pembrokeshire together with the Fishguard & Goodwick club. On Tuesday 4th May the club started their own Fun Centre (which runs for 6 weeks) for boys and girls from 7-11 years and had over 30 in attendance. The club was presented with a Dragon Sport hockey bag and hockey balls to assist them with the centre. Angela said ‘I am delighted to see the club taking over the fun centre; they have worked hard over the past 2 years recruiting coaches with funding received from Sport Wales’s Community Chest. Angela is now working with coaches from Sport Pembrokeshire introducing hockey into the Haverfordwest family of schools and is starting a Fun Centre at Sir Thomas Picton ATP on Monday 17th May with the Centre to be headed by Roger Middleton, an experienced Level 3 coach.
