Anne Ellis presenting Jane Price with the Certificate of Merit

The WHU held at Newtown on Sunday 5th July was hailed as a venue success with a much improved attendance from previous years. Anne Ellis arrived back from an FIH Executive Meeting in Lausanne only hours before to take the chair. The tenor of the hockey reports was positive and encouraging in spite of the recession. The AGM voted through the increase in membership and re-elected Mary Bainbridge and Jen Barton to the Board for another 2 year term.

For their services to hockey, Roger Caddick was made a Life Member and Jane Price and Sue Legg were awarded the Certificate of Merit. There was wide acclaim for Matt James's work over the past 2 1/2 years as National Development Manager for Clubs and Young People. The presentation on Club Competition by John Turton included announcements of John Taylor and the new Men's co-ordinator and Anne Mullin as Women's co-ordinator for the coming season with some healthy discussion about indoor, European qualifier and veteran’s competition.

All were reminded about the EuroNations event and the associated activities in Wrexham from 1-8th August as both a hockey extravaganza and a family day out.

The minutes will be published in due course.
