WHU appoint CEO
The Welsh Hockey Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Bushell as the permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Helen joined Welsh Hockey in July 2009 as the National Development Manager after taking a career break to undertake her Masters qualification in Human Resource Management. Prior to this, Helen worked as Head of Workforce Development for England Netball where she led the development of the Workforce Development team including the implementation of the UKCC Netball qualifications. Helen brings a wealth of experience in Sports Development having worked in National Governing Bodies, Local Authority and sports coach UK.
Chairman of Welsh Hockey, Karen Evans comments, "I am delighted that Helen has accepted and joined the Welsh Hockey family and is now the CEO. There will be many challenges ahead of us but with Helen at the helm and along with our committed staff we look forward to a bright future for Welsh Hockey."
Helen adds "I am delighted to be appointed as CEO; Hockey in Wales has a very exciting future with many opportunities for us to take advantage of. I am confident that by working together and being clear about our vision and goals, we can combat any challenges we may face and continue to build success both at home in Wales and on the international stage. I would like to extend my thanks to Karen Evans as Chair of our organisation, our Board of Directors, all staff both at head office and across Wales, and crucially to all of our dedicated members and volunteers that work tirelessly week in week out. I would like to assure you that I am here for the long haul and that the interests of Hockey across Wales is the central concern of all within Welsh Hockey and as always, welcome any thoughts or comments you may have. Helen will commence her permanent post with immediate effect.
