Welsh players get GB Youth nod
Lewis Prosser and Sophie Robinson have both been selected to attend the Youth Olympics Festival in Sydney in January 2009. Lewis has been named in the 16 man squad and is on the right path of emulating his father's success of full GB international honours. Sophie will be traveling to Australia as the 17th and 1st reserve player. Although not part of the named 16, Robinson who plays her club hockey with England Premier League side Leicester was upbeat about her selection. "It is amazing to be selected but I have mixed feelings about being 17th player because I may not get the chance to play in the Youth Olympic Festival but having said that I do get to play in the warm up matches prior to the tournament which will be an experience in itself."
The Welsh Hockey Union wishes both players every success for the forthcoming months.
