Sofia Gardens played host to the Wales Under 16 and Under 18 Boys and Girls squads during the half-term week.

Snow gripped much of the country, but it had very little impact on the camp making best use of the excellent facilities at the Welsh Institute of Sport. The Girls under 18 Head coach, Gareth Terrett, in his first year with this group was impressed with the application of his squad. The under 16 Head Coach, Clare Harvey said ' I am very optimistic about the improving quality of the basic skills from the group players for this year which to me is proof that the Regional Academy and Performance Development Centre System is beginning to work'. Mike Cleverley was active with the Goal Keepers.

The Head Boys under 18's Coach, Mike Yeoman who had success with the UK School Games team last year was equally positive about the players he would have to draw on. Chris Roberts the new Under 16 Boys Coach was delighted with the skill levels of his group, particularly some of the younger players included for their long term potential.  Squads benefited from a nutrition session Wednesday evening.

The Under 18 squads are preparing for a test series in Scotland at Largs this Easter, whilst the Under 16's will entertain Scotland in Wrexham in a reverse of last years fixtures.
