Starting life as Roath Hockey Club in 1896, it wasn't long before they changed to Cardiff Hockey Club. Becoming a dominant force in the early development of Hockey in South Wales.

Cardiff & Met

In 1927 they merged with the Cardiff Athletics Ladies HC and the two are today still closely linked together. Most recently changing their name to Cardiff & Met (due to the partnership between Cardiff Hockey and Cardiff Metropolitan University) the team has gone from strength to strength. Under the management of Head Coach Walid Abdo, Assistant Coach Andy Gowman and Manager Ben Eaton, the 1st XI are current NOW Pension English Hockey League Men’s West Champions and hold the honour of being the first Welsh team to ever compete in the prestigious Euro Hockey League.
