Following the General Meeting in July and the request of the members, we held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) with a single agenda item, a motion to increase membership fees for the 2025/26 season. Papers were circulated to clubs, schools and associations three weeks prior to the EGM.
The EGM was chaired by Bill Riley (Chair, Hoci Cymru Board of Directors) with 43 people in attendance (including 25 voting members - 13 members had submitted proxy votes prior to the EGM).
During the EGM the chair presented the case for the motion and the precarious financial position facing hockey in Wales. Following some excellent questions and comments the vote was conducted and 38 votes cast, with 22 votes in favour of the motion and 16 votes against.
More information to follow in the coming months ahead of the 25/26 season including a new hardship fund and payment plans to assist members who need financial support.
