Hockey Wales are excited to announce the players representing Wales for our Easter Series
hosted at Sport Wales in Cardiff from the 27th March – 1st April.
Hockey Wales CEO, Paul Whapham said:
“To host these international teams in Cardiff is an exciting endeavour for Hockey Wales as our teams commence their international seasons. Having international hockey hosted in Wales will increase our visibility as a sport and I look forward to seeing our players embrace that challenge this easter series."
The Senior Wales Women squad will consist of 22 players who will be facing Scotland from the 30th March - 1st April. Sport Wales will play host to this thrilling contest between two of the home nations.
Captain Beth Bingham commented:
“I'm really excited to be back playing in Cardiff and challenging ourselves against a strong Scottish side.This is a young and exciting squad and I look forward to testing ourselves as we move into the international season.”
Wales’ National Age Group teams and Dreigiau squads will be simultaneously playing their part in the weekend of international action as the Under 18 Girls face Canada and the U18 boys host Ulster for three matches on home soil as the sides prepare for the U18 European Championships this summer.
Hockey Wales Performance Pathway Squad, known as Dreigiau Women will simultaneously be hosting Austria across the weekend looking for a strong result in their first matches as a squad.
Performance Director and Senior Women’s Head Coach Kevin Johnson commented:
"Its great to be back on home turf as we start another summer of International activity and to welcome Scotland to Cardiff at Easter. We are particularly looking forward to having our NAGs teams and U21 women in action alongside us over the course of the weekend and for the opportunity to expose most of our full Senior squad to the challenge of high-quality International matches."
